United Kingdom including (Companies established in any such Country Colony or Dependency but carrying on business elsewhere with power for my General Trustees at their discretion to change any such investments for othersof a like nature and with power in the case of any securities or investments being to bearer to deposit the same with any Hankers or Company or other persons for safe custody and to pay out of the income of the said premises any sum required for that purpose. And I ^q^ declare that my General Trustees shall stand possessed of the said trust property and investments from time to time representing the Residuary Estate vested in them hereinafter called my General Rsiduary Estate upon trust out of the annual income of my General Residuary Estate to pay or apply to or for the maintenance education or benefitof my said Grandson Alexander George Francis Drogo Viscount Mandeville or other the eldest or only son for the time being of my said son William Angus Drogo Duke of Manchester during his life or until he shall become entitled to the title and dignity of Duke of Manchester the follow- 105 ing yearly sums (that is to say) During the minority of such grandson of mine such annual sum not exceeding £500 and after such grandson shall have attained the age of twenty-one years such annual sum not exceeding £1,500 and in the event of such grandson marrying in the lifetime of my said son the present Duke of Manchester To such annual sum not exceeding (together with the said annual sum of £1,500) £4,000 as my General Trustees shall in their absolute discretion think fit and by such instalments at such times and in such manner generally as they shall think fit And subject

to the annual sums hereinbefore directed to be paid or applied as aforesaid upon trust during the life of my-said son the present Duke of Manchester to apply the annual income of my General Residuary Estate for the maintenance and support or otherwise for the benefit of all or any one or more exclusivelyof the other or others of him my said son his wife and children or other issue as my General Trustees in their sole and uncontrolled discretion without being liable to account for the exercise of such discretion think fit or if there shall be no wife or issue of my said son in existence Then for the maintenance support or otherwise for the benefit of all or any one or more exclusively of the other or others of him my said son and the person or persons who would if he were actually dead be entitled to my General Residuary Estate or the income thereof as my General Trustees in their sole and uncontrolled discretion without being liable to account for the exercise of such discretion think fit 108 Provided nevertheless and I declare it to be my wish (but so as not to impose any legal or equitable obligation on my General Trustees or to control or restrict in any manner their absolute discretion under the trusts last hereinbefore declared) that notwithstanding the discretionary trusts hereinbefore declared to take effect during the life of my said son the Duke of Manchester my General Trustees shall pay the annual income of the trust premises or so much of such income as they shall in their discretion think proper and sufficient to my said son for his own use so long during his life as he shall in the opinion of my general trustees be applying the income paid by them to him in a proper and reasonable manner for the maintenance of

same or any part thereof in any of which cases as well as on the death of such person whichever first happens the trust hereinbefore declared for payment to him of the said income is to determine And if the trusts aforesaid shall fail or determine in his lifetime then upon trust during the residue of the life of such person to apply the annual income of the trust premises for the maintenance and support or otherwise for the benefit of all or anyone or more exclusivelyof the other or others of him his wife and issue as my general trustees in their sole discretion without being liable to account for the exercise of such discretion think fit or if there should be no wife or issue of his in existence Then for the maintenance support or otherwise for the benefit of all or any one or more exclusively of the other or others of him and the person or persons who would if he were actually dead be entitled to my General Residuary Instate or the income thereof as my General Trustees in their sole discretion without being liable to account as aforesaid think 1 U fit And after the death ofsuch person my General Residuary Estate shall be held in trust for the person being descended from me who at such death shall become Duke of Manchester absolutely subject in every case to the operation of the like proviso if applicable Provided also that if any Duke of 'Manchester being the son of a person living at my death shall become entitled to the said premises under the preceding clauses or under this proviso absolutely and shall die under the age of twenty-one years the absolute trust for him shall determine and the said premises shall after his death be held in trust for the person being descended from me who at such death shall become
